The mission of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington is simple: Our mission is to eliminate suffering from eye disease, both in our region and the wider world. The Wilmer Eye Institute is a premier Ophthalmology Department providing the highest quality care for patients from all over the world. The NYC Combined Oculoplastic Fellowship is a collaborative, multi-institutional and multi-faceted training program that provides comprehensive training in all clinical and surgical aspects of oculoplastic surgery, as well as training in leadership, research, education and practice management. Clinical exposure varies from common eyelid conditions and lacrimal abnormalities to thyroid eye disease and orbital processes. The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) approves and maintains post-graduate fellowship programs that train qualified physicians in the art and science of oculofacial plastic surgery (OPS). The fellowship will provide world-class exposure to pathology and offer meaningful exposure to functional, aesthetic and traumatic cases. Fellows interact with the world's brightest residents (in Ophthalmology as well as other Plastic Surgery and ENT) and medical students.
